454 Comics exists to serve collectors — people who love comics, follow runs, and want access to great books at fair prices. This policy exists to protect that experience for everyone and to ensure our stock reaches the hands of genuine readers and collectors rather than being flipped for profit at the expense of the community.
FOC (Final Order Cutoff) Preorders
When you place an order before our Final Order Cutoff date, you are ordering at the same time we are — before anyone knows how a book will perform. There are no purchase limits on FOC preorders. Order as many copies as you like.
FOC is the right time to secure multiples. You are taking the same risk we are, and we respect that commitment.
Post-Release Purchases
Once a title has been released and is available as in-stock, purchases are limited to 2 copies per customer per title.
This applies to all new release single issues available after their release date. It exists to ensure stock is available to as many collectors as possible and to prevent bulk purchasing for resale at the expense of genuine customers.
If you have a legitimate reason to purchase more than 2 copies post-release — for example, a store, club, or reading group — please contact us directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Ongoing Series — Story Arc Commitment
454 Comics reserves the right to require a story arc commitment — typically the first complete arc of a series — for ongoing series pricing.
Story arcs vary by title but typically run 4–8 issues. The commitment will be confirmed at the time of your order based on the publisher's solicitation.
This policy exists for two reasons. First, it protects our ordering — we order based on subscriber commitments and need confidence in those numbers. Second, it ensures ongoing pricing is available to readers who are genuinely following a series, not those who only want issue #1 if it turns out to be valuable.
After the first arc, you are free to continue, pause, or cancel with notice before the next FOC date.
Our Discretion
454 Comics reserves the right to cancel, limit, or refund orders that appear to be speculative bulk purchasing intended for resale. We will always contact you before taking this step.
We are not here to police collecting — buy what you love, in whatever quantity makes sense for you at FOC. This policy is specifically aimed at post-release behaviour that disadvantages the broader collecting community.
